Media Invitation to Launch of 5-Day House Build For Charity

The Challenge: Build, Furnish and Landscape a house within 5 days

You're invited to watch, film, photograph and interview at the site.

BOWMANVILLE, ON – (July 29, 2010) Most homes normally take 5 to 6 months to build, but scheduling challenges can increase that time up to 8 months. Halminen Homes has issued a challenge to its team: Build a house in just 5 days from start to finish. It’s a first for company president, Hannu Halminen and his executive vice president, Ryan Holland who will be leading the team.

Why? All proceeds from the sale of the home will benefit the new Level 2 Critical Care Unit at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. Halminen Homes is taking this build straight to the heart.

You're Invited - to take part in this exciting occasion. Throughout the build week, you’ll have the opportunity to interview, film, and photograph craftsman and coordinators in action 24/5.

WHEN:   Monday August 9, 2010.  8:00am – 11:00am, 

WHERE: East side of Trulls Road, north of George Reynolds Drive

WHAT:   Launch of site to media and dignitaries 

  6:00 am   First crew arrives to start work

  8:30 am Media and dignitaries arrive

  9:00 am Official welcome by MC Dan Carter

  9:30 am   First wall goes up 

10:15 am Refreshments are served

Interested media will have the opportunity to fly over the site to see the beginning of the new home.

Media are invited to visit the site during the week anytime 24/5 until the house is completed, to tour the final product on Friday, August 13th at noon and celebrate with the trades at a barbeque.
